Matt Smith Nostalgic On 'Late Late Show' Talking About His Final Season On 'Doctor Who' (VIDEO)

Current and outgoing Doctor, Matt Smith, got nostalgic about his iconic role during his visit to "The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson." He took on the titular role of The Doctor in "Doctor Who" in 2010 and announced his decision in June to leave the show after the end of the upcoming season.

?One has to move on. You can?t do it forever," Smith said. "I?ll miss it. It?s been quite a journey.?

?But it?s time," Ferguson said. "Maybe do some slasher movies, or maybe some porn??

?Hey listen, you never know," laughed Smith.

Smith told Vulture that there had been a plan in place for him to leave "Doctor Who" for a while now. He thinks his departure from the show will actually help it, keeping it fresh. And he'll still be finding plenty of work. Next up for him is a role in "How to Catch a Monster," the highly-anticipated directorial debut from Ryan Gosling.

Stay up late and laugh with "The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson," weeknights at 12:37 a.m. ET on CBS.
