This evening on ?Oprah?s Next Chapter,? Oprah Winfrey will interview the mayor of Newark, Cory Booker, who has recently made many waves in the political arena including his recent remarks about bashing the Obama campaign (to which he is closely aligned) for the ads which have portrayed Republican nominee hopeful, Mitt Romney, as a profit monger while acting as the CEO of Bain Capital.
Winfrey will talk with Booker this evening on a variety of topics including his recent death scare and rescue from a burning building to his move to the projects as well as why he is still a single man. This dynamic politician will open up about his feelings for New York Governor Chris Christie in addition to his future in politics and how he and Christie manage to put partisan politics aside. Will he leave Newark for brighter horizons like potentially running for the position of President of the United States?
Crime has been reduced drastically in his two terms as mayor and many are wondering if he will seek a third term or move on. Although he states he is uncertain, he addresses the ?pit stop? people by stating he has been in Newark for more than two decades and owes his life to the city and will likely die there even if he pursues higher aspirations. His mayorship has earned nationwide recognition and statewide hope, but he is not willing to be tied in to a decision during this interview.
Find out what other ground Oprah covers this evening in her interview with Cory Book on ?Oprah?s Next Chapter? which will air tonight on OWN starting at 9/8c.
