When Crossland Construction Company founder, Ivan Crossland Sr., lost his battle with cancer in 2003, Ivan Jr. was ready with a vision for the company and the passion to take on the responsibility. Ivan Sr. and his wife Virginia had raised a family of ten children (four girls and six boys). All six brothers now own the company and are actively involved in the daily management. He was elected as the 2011 Board of Trustees Chairperson for the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER), a not-for-profit education foundation created in 1996, to develop standardized construction education/training curricula and to help address the critical skilled construction workforce shortage.
Crossland Construction Company was founded in 1977 and incorporated in 1979 by Ivan Crossland Sr. The revenue growth of the firm, relative to other builders in the United States, is documented in Engineering News Record annual survey of top contractors. The company, under Ivan Jr.?s leadership, broke into the top 400 in 2000 and entered the top 100 in 2010.
In addition to the ranking among the top 100 in the United States according to Engineering News Record, it has also been recognized as a leading metal building contractor, steel erector and concrete contractor. Columbus, Kansas is headquarters and the company now operates offices in Wichita and Kansas City, Missouri; Tulsa, Oklahoma; Rogers, Arkansas and Prosper, Texas.
