Some of the buzz around Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's visit to Malawi came right at the end of her trip.
A swarm of bees descended on the area as Clinton and her delegation were departing from an airport in the southern African nation after a 6.5-hour visit, the Nyasa Times reported.
"There was a slight panic as the bees winged across the airport. People could be seen running away to keep cover as the secretary of state swiftly boarded her plane to avoid any stings," an eyewitness told the Nyasa Times.
Scores of both Malawians and Americans scurried in several directions to take cover, the Nyasa Times reported.
Clinton, the? first U.S. secretary of state to visit Malawi?according to the Associated Press,?met schoolgirls and Africa's second female president, Joyce Banda, during the short trip.
Clinton urged Banda to continue with economic reforms that make Malawi?attractive to foreign investment, the AP reported. Clinton then left for South Africa to visit Nelson Mandela.
The secretary of state is on an 11-day tour of African nations. After meetings in South Africa,? she is scheduled to visit Nigeria, Ghana and Benin before heading to Turkey to talk about the Syrian crisis, Good Morning America reported.
According to eye witnesses, scores of both Malawians and Americans including security agents scampered in different directions to take cover.
