TRaC Global has been approved as a test house for global medical technology compatibility body Continua Health Alliance ? the first in the UK.
Continua promotes the development of plug-and-play personal health devices through interoperability guidelines based standards (see below) for data links and data protocols ? including ZigBee, Bluetooth, and USB.
Intel, Bosch, Qualcomm, Panasonic and Philips are amongst over 200 members.
?TRaC is now the only test house in the world to be approved by the Continua Health Alliance as well as the ZigBee Alliance and the Bluetooth Special Interest Group ? the industry bodies promoting the two wireless technologies used by the Continua Health Alliance,? said TRaC.
TRaC has been a member of the Alliance for more than two years and has played a role in developing standards across the industry.
The US Department of Defense (DoD) recently weighed in behind the Alliance.

JPC-1 (Joint Program Committee-1) and TATRC (Telemedicine and Advanced Technology Research Center) are DoD bodies, said Continua, that have helped develop health informatics, medical imaging, mobile computing and remote monitoring.
